Reporting procedure
Reporting procedure
The following is a description of the reporting procedure, which is a simple and systematic process:
Step 1. Register yourself as a reporting entity with the FIU
Register by using the registration form available on this website. After reviewing and processing your data, your account will be activated. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail. Once your account has been activated, you can log in to the reporting portal (MOTWEB) using your personal username and password.
Step 2. Download the MOTWEB manual
This manual describes how to report an unusual transaction online in 6 easy steps.
Step 3. Download the indicators manual
The indicators determine the unusual nature of a transaction. The indicators describe in which situations an unusual transaction report should be submitted to the FIU-Aruba. When a transaction can be classified as unusual, it must be reported promptly, within five business days. The indicators apply to all reporting entities unless explicitly stated otherwise in the description of the indicator.
If the transaction meets one or more indicators, please proceed to step 4.
Step 4. Fill in all required fields of the digital reporting form
All fields must be completed as fully as possible. Make sure that your description of the situation in the report is accurate, clear, and complete. You can also add attachments to support your report.
Step 5. Confirm the information on the digital reporting form
If your completed reporting form appears to be incorrect or incomplete when processing the data, it will be returned to you. You will be requested to submit additional information or to correct the information where necessary/required.
Step 6. Submit your report to the FIU
Submit your unusual transaction report including attachments, if any, via the reporting portal to the FIU.
Step 7. Confirmation of receipt from the FIU
After processing the received unusual transaction reports, you will receive a confirmation of receipt via e-mail (a legal indemnity).
Step 8. Feedback from the FIU
The FIU will send you a notification by e-mail if your unusual transaction report was used in a financial intelligence report of the FIU, which was disseminated to competent authorities.
