The duty to report the import and export of cash money

The obligation to report the import and export of cash money applies to all persons who import or export Aruban or foreign money in cash worth more than Afl. 20,000 (US $ 11,000). The duty to report applies to both the physical transportation of money and sending it by mail.

Forms to declare the import or export of Aruban or foreign cash money worth more than Afl. 20,000 (US $ 11,000) are available upon request from the (customs) authorities at:

  • all locations where persons may enter and leave Aruba
  • all post offices
  • all places that do not fall under the locations mentioned above; where goods or postal consignments are imported from abroad, or; where they can be exported
